"Hi, I'm glad you have visited my homepage. I'm Dr. Lorri Greene, a
licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in San Diego, California.
In 1986, I co-founded the San Diego County Pet Bereavement Program.
This program provides:
-
group support meetings for those who have lost their companion animals
-
education of veterinarians, therapists, and other professionals
about the legitimacy of pet bereavement
-
individual counseling for those experiencing great difficulties
with the pet bereavement process
In 2002, Jacquelyn Landis and I wrote a book, Saying Good-Bye to the
Pet You Love: A Complete Resource to Help You Heal, published by New
Harbinger Press. This book is available online through Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com,
and directly from the publisher at newharbinger.com. The book is also available
in many bookstores.
Saying Good-Bye to the Pet You Love is the first self-help book
for those who have lost a companion animal. There are several good books
available about the human-animal bond and the grieving process when we
lose a companion animal. However, we believe ours is the first book to
help people through the grieving process.
Although this website cannot substitute for our book, support groups,
or individual counseling, we hope you will find the resources we provide
here as helpful. Also, consider posting in our Yahoo group, Pet Bereavement.
You will find support from other who have lost companion animals."
